Microsoft Taiwan and Chief Telecom Partner to Provide VoIP Service

The collaboration will have Chief Telecom offer VoIP service on Microsoft`s MSN instant-messaging program. Consumers click on a telephone logo on MSN instant messaging option list on PCs to sign up as members and buy credit points for the service offered by Chief.

The service is priced around 50 percent below the average charge on traditional telephone service. For instance, making local calls on the service’s network costs only NT$0.66 per minute and making mobile calls on the network costs around NT$3.2 per minute.
